Remember everyone! This upcoming weekend is the 3rd annual local chapter of AAZK’s (American Association of Zookeepers) Rummage Sale being held right here at the museum! Sunday morning May 15th, from 7am to 12 pm under the picnic dome there will be a wide array of donated goods for sale. Everything from clothes and books, to furniture and appliances and everything in between! All to benefit your local friendly and lovable zookeepers. 🙂
Our local AAZK chapter includes the Durham Museum of Life and Science, the Duke Lemur Center and the Carolina Tiger Rescue. All proceeds go to our continued involvement in the zoological community. Including making donations to worthwhile institutions around the world, conducting workshops to better learn about and care for the animals in our care and anything else we can do to make a beneficial impact in the zoo community.
So come on out and spend some quality time with some wonderful & fun people, contribute to a worthwhile cause and at the very least talk some shop about cool animal stuff. We know stuff from Lemurs to Lions to Leatherbacks, (and bunches in between) so bring it on! 🙂 More info can be found on our AAZK website calendar – www.ncpiedmontaazk.org See you soon!
